Never thought I'd see the day

I never thought I'd see the day when a Democratic President would rather enforce existing gun laws instead of making new ones that won't get enforced anyway!

I'm not one that thinks I need to own an assult rifle. I don't think I'll ever own one personally, but I don't see a reason to restrict law abiding citizens from owning them. The problem with gun laws is they don't really keep them out of the hands of criminals.

I had a discussion today at work about having firearms for personal protection and one of the ladies I work with was pretty adament that we should ban all firearms from being owned in the home. She'd has a neice killed because of a gun accident and this was her reasoning.

I told her that by that reasoning we should ban all automobiles from the road because more people are killid by cars than guns every day. She said that we have to have cars to get around. I asked her where that was written.

The problem is that there isn't enough education on firearms safety. Kids need to learn from a young age that firearms are dangerous and what to do when they see one. If we teach our children at a very young age, they will be responsible as they get older.

I disagree with you about the cars. Our culture and infrastructure is designed around the use of cars. So, yes, she’s right we need cars in order to function as a society. The same cannot be said about guns.
