I think the Federal Government should FULLY fund the construction of the proposed Mosque at Ground Zero in New York with NO STRINGS ATTACHED. We need to show that corner of the world what it means to be AMERICAN. Show them that we're the adult in the relationship. We don't need to be giving them reasons to hate us any more than they already do.
If we don't allow them to build the Mosque then the Constitution of these United States of America has FAILED. Freedom of Religion is a freedom for ALL.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redressof grievances."
People who say the Mosque shouldn't be built in my opinion are NOT AMERICANS!

I'm listed as unaffiliated because I believe that there is good and bad in all political parties and I vote for the people not the party. I didn't like either of the major candidates for President in 2008 and I think that unaffiliated voters that aren't at the mercy of any one political party need to step up to get better ideas of how to "Change" the USA! I'll start with my ideas and I welcome arguments on both sides. Who knows, maybe someday someone unaffiliated could be in the White House.

I'm fine with letting them build it, but why do you think that the American Tax Payer should pay for it? Isn't that government endorsement of a religion? What about separation of church and state? Tax money should not be used to build a cathedral, a temple, a synagog or a mosque.
After I posted this I thought about that. Other than the American Tax Payer footing the bill. I still feel the same as above.
